I am a single, 40 something, middle class, male living in beautiful west-central Florida, just outside of Tampa-St. Pete. I moved here a couple of years ago from the Chicago area to help take care of my parents. The community I live in is made up predominantly of seniors citizens which occasionally can be a source of entertainment. Not to say that there is anything wrong with seniors. Actually this community and the people in it have a wealth of knowledge and life experience. It’s just that seniors can have a diferiant way of dealing with the world that sometimes can crack me up.

I write several blogs that are related to my profession which is Computer Technology.  So I decide to start this blog called Kool Beans, to have a little fun and share some of the things I find interesting or humorous. I guess this could be called my anything and everything blog. But the real goal here is to provide a little entertainment by pointing out things that make me chuckle while resisting the urge to get on my soapbox. The web has plenty of sites (some good and some that are really bad) were people rant about one thing or another. Every one has an opinion and that is a good thing, but that is not what I hope to accomplish here. I don’t have an agenda and I certainly am not out to change anybody’s mind.

I conceder myself a pragmatist and I am defiantly not associated with either of the two major political parties. I am about as center of the road as one can be when it comes to politics and our political system. I believe that there are, in most cases, two side of an augment and that normally both side have some merit. Compromise has always been the cornerstone of our democracy and empathy for others is a measure of ones humanity. But humor above all is the best way of dealing with intolerance and ignorance.

There is a great line in the movie Harold and Kumar go to White Castel. When Harold is put in jail he asked the guy in the cell with him, how could he remain so calm about being wrongfully arrested.  

“Look at me, I’m fat, I’m black, can’t dance and I have two gay fathers. People have been messing with me my whole life. I learned a long time ago there’s no sense in getting all riled up every time a bunch of idiots give you a hard time. In the end the universe tends to unfold as it should.  Plus I have a really large penis and that keep me happy”
